Technical Analysis

The click5 CRM add-on to Contact Form 7 WordPress plugin versions up to and including 1.0.4 contain a stored XSS vulnerability (CWE-79). The issue is due to improper sanitization and escaping of user-submitted content via an unauthenticated endpoint, which is then rendered in an admin page. This could enable attackers to inject malicious scripts that execute when viewed by admin users, potentially compromising administrative control or session integrity.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the context of an administrator's browser session. This may lead to actions such as session hijacking, privilege escalation, or unauthorized administrative operations within the affected WordPress environment.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the affected plugin and monitor for suspicious activity. Consider disabling or removing the click5 CRM add-on to Contact Form 7 plugin if possible to mitigate risk.
