Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-85348 is a CSRF vulnerability in the GDPR Data Request Form WordPress plugin up to version 1.7.1. The plugin lacks CSRF protection when updating one of its settings, enabling attackers to alter that setting by convincing an administrator to execute a crafted request. The vulnerability requires user interaction (UI:R) and does not require privileges (PR:N). The impact is limited to integrity (I:L) with no confidentiality or availability impact.

Potential Impact

An attacker can cause an administrator to unknowingly change a plugin setting via a forged request. This could lead to unauthorized configuration changes but does not expose sensitive data or disrupt service availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, administrators should be cautious about clicking untrusted links and consider additional protections such as implementing CSRF tokens or restricting administrative access.
