Technical Analysis

The vulnerability identified as CVE-2026-85421 affects Brocade Active Support Connectivity Gateway (ASCG) versions prior to 3.5.0. The HTTPS service in these versions fails to properly enforce authentication or access control checks on incoming requests. As a result, an unauthenticated attacker with network access can send control commands, change cluster states, and modify system configurations. This flaw corresponds to CWE-306 (Missing Authentication for Critical Function) and has a CVSS 4.0 base score of 8.7, indicating high severity.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker with network access can fully control the streaming service control plane by issuing commands, altering cluster states, and modifying system configurations. This can lead to a complete compromise of the affected system's control functions.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Brocade ASCG version 3.5.0 and later. Users should upgrade to version 3.5.0 or above to remediate this vulnerability. Since this is not a cloud service, remediation depends on applying the vendor's patch.
