Upgrade VNote to version 4.3.0 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the vendor has provided an official fix.
Description
VNote versions prior to 4.3.0 contain a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability due to unsafe insertion of YAML frontmatter metadata into the DOM before sanitization. This allows execution of attacker-supplied JavaScript when opening a malicious Markdown note. The vulnerability enables local note files to be read and exfiltrated to remote servers without user interaction. The issue is fixed in version 4.3.0.
