Technical Analysis

The Livees Checkout WordPress plugin through version 7.0.2 does not perform capability, nonce, or order-key verification before processing request parameters on the order confirmation page. This missing authorization (CWE-862) enables unauthenticated attackers to change arbitrary order statuses, store arbitrary data and notes on orders, and recover order keys.

Potential Impact

An attacker without authentication can alter the status of any order, inject arbitrary data and notes into orders, and retrieve order keys. This compromises the integrity and confidentiality of order data but does not affect availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the order confirmation page and monitor for suspicious activity related to order modifications.
