Technical Analysis

This vulnerability involves a use-after-free condition in the printing functionality of Google Chrome versions before 153.0.8010.36. An attacker with control over the renderer process can exploit this flaw by delivering a specially crafted HTML page, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution outside the browser sandbox. The issue was addressed in Chrome version 153.0.8010.36 as per the vendor advisory.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation could allow remote code execution with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The attacker must have already compromised the renderer process and can then execute code outside the sandbox, increasing the risk of system compromise.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should update Google Chrome to version 153.0.8010.36 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed. The vendor advisory confirms an official fix is available. No additional mitigations are specified beyond applying the update.
