Vendor/Project: Brocade
Product: Fabric OS

Description

CVE-2026-87678 is a vulnerability in Brocade Fabric OS web management interface versions before 10.0.1. It involves improper neutralization of CRLF sequences in the Identity Provider issuer parameter during Federated Authentication configuration. An authenticated administrator or attacker supplying crafted configuration files can inject arbitrary web server directives. This may cause denial of service by preventing the web management daemon from starting or alter web server security controls.

Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-93) in Brocade Fabric OS affects versions prior to 10.0.1. The web management interface fails to sanitize the Identity Provider (IdP) issuer parameter when configuring Federated Authentication. This allows an authenticated administrator or an attacker capable of importing crafted FA configuration files to inject CRLF sequences, leading to arbitrary web server directive injection. The impact includes potential denial of service by stopping the web management daemon or modification of web server security controls.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability can cause denial of service by preventing the web management daemon from starting, disrupting management access. It may also allow alteration of web server security controls, potentially weakening the security posture of the management interface. Exploitation requires authenticated administrator privileges or the ability to supply crafted configuration files during import.

Mitigation Recommendations

No explicit patch or remediation is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the web management interface and carefully validate any imported Federated Authentication configuration files to trusted sources only.
