Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-87842 describes an information exposure vulnerability in the Zonify WordPress plugin before version 1.0.5. The plugin fails to verify user capabilities or authentication before disclosing the site's stored account login token. This flaw enables unauthenticated attackers to obtain the token and use it to authenticate to the site owner's linked service account.

Potential Impact

An attacker can retrieve sensitive authentication tokens without any authentication, potentially allowing unauthorized access to linked service accounts associated with the WordPress site. This could lead to unauthorized actions performed on behalf of the site owner in the linked service.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or vendor advisory is provided in the input data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the plugin's endpoints and monitor for suspicious activity related to token exposure.
