Technical Analysis

The Rox Appointment Booking WordPress plugin prior to version 1.2.8 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability on an endpoint that exposes booking agent data. Because no authorization checks are performed, unauthenticated attackers can retrieve sensitive personal and internal information about staff members, including contact details and private notes. This constitutes a CWE-200 (Information Exposure) weakness.

Potential Impact

Unauthenticated attackers can access sensitive personal and internal information about booking agents, such as email addresses, phone numbers, private notes, and linked WordPress account names. This exposure could lead to privacy violations and potential targeted attacks against staff members. There is no indication of active exploitation in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the Rox Appointment Booking plugin to version 1.2.8 or later, where this authorization check vulnerability has been fixed. No other mitigation is indicated. Patch status is confirmed by the versioning information provided.
