Description

The Football Pool plugin for WordPress contains a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Shoutbox widget. This occurs via the shouttext POST parameter in all versions up to and including 2.13.4. The vulnerability arises because the plugin echoes unsanitized user input into a textarea element without proper HTML escaping when a shoutbox form submission fails nonce validation or other checks. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by tricking an authenticated user into submitting a crafted POST request, potentially executing arbitrary scripts in the victim's browser.
