Published: 09/17/2026 (09/17/2026, 06:00:11 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Product: wpShopGermany IT-RECHT KANZLEI

Description

The wpShopGermany IT-RECHT KANZLEI WordPress plugin versions from 1.6 up to but not including 2.4 contains a vulnerability where its API authentication token is generated insecurely. The token is derived from data controlled by the requester and is created as a side effect of the validation check. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to predict the token and gain access to write arbitrary files, potentially leading to remote code execution.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-88795 describes an improper control of code generation (CWE-94) vulnerability in the wpShopGermany IT-RECHT KANZLEI WordPress plugin before version 2.4. The plugin does not securely generate its API authentication token, deriving it from user-controllable data and creating it during the validation process. This design flaw enables unauthenticated attackers to predict the token and leverage the granted access to write arbitrary files on the system, which can result in remote code execution.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can predict the API authentication token due to insecure token generation. With this token, the attacker can write arbitrary files to the system, leading to remote code execution. This compromises the integrity and security of the affected WordPress site.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the plugin's API endpoints and monitor for suspicious activity related to token usage.
