Users should restrict access to the affected plugins or disable them until a vendor-provided fix is available. Monitor vendor advisories for updates. Since the vulnerability requires an authenticated user, limiting user registrations and privileges can reduce risk.
Description
MDJM Event Management and Mobile Events Manager WordPress plugins up to version 1.7.8.7 contain a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. The plugins do not verify user capabilities or nonces before creating WordPress roles from user-supplied names, and they store these names without escaping. This allows any authenticated user, including low-privilege subscribers, to inject arbitrary scripts that execute when an administrator views user management screens.
