Description

The Shortcode Buddy plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Shortcode Attributes in all versions up to, and including, 0.1.9.5 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

Impact

An attacker with contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious JavaScript code into pages via shortcode attributes. This code executes in the browsers of users who view the infected pages, potentially leading to session hijacking, data theft, or other client-side attacks. The vulnerability impacts confidentiality and integrity but does not affect availability. There are no known active exploits in the wild.
