Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-89232 is an SQL injection vulnerability in the Recordbrowser WordPress plugin versions up to and including 1.1.7. The plugin fails to properly sanitize and escape a parameter before incorporating it into a SQL query. This allows unauthenticated attackers to append arbitrary SQL queries, leading to unauthorized data disclosure from the backend database.

Potential Impact

An attacker can exploit this vulnerability without authentication to execute arbitrary SQL commands, which may result in unauthorized access to sensitive information stored in the database. This compromises the confidentiality of the data managed by the affected WordPress plugin.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the vulnerable plugin and consider disabling it if possible to prevent exploitation.
