A fix is available that disables preemption during the critical section in __bpf_get_stack to prevent concurrent reuse of the perf_callchain_entry buffer. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this fix. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem allows a preemptible BPF program to cause an out-of-bounds write due to improper handling of per-CPU perf_callchain_entry buffers. This occurs because preemption is not disabled while copying the callchain entry, enabling concurrent reuse and buffer overflow. The issue has been resolved by disabling preemption during the critical section to prevent buffer reuse and ensure bounds are respected.
