A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a patched kernel version to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth eir_get_service_data() function causes an out-of-bounds read when processing advertising data fields. This occurs due to incorrect length calculations when walking through Service Data fields with mismatched UUIDs, leading to reading beyond the buffer boundary. The flaw affects certain Linux kernel versions and has been resolved.
