AI-suggested
This vulnerability has been fixed in Linux kernel versions 6.6 and 6.5, as well as specific fixed commits for affected earlier versions. Users and administrators should upgrade to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation actions are indicated or required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NFS server (nfsd) component related to incorrect XDR padding calculation in the ff_encode_getdeviceinfo function has been fixed. The issue caused the declared length of a data field to exceed the actual encoded data by 2-8 bytes, leading to leakage of stale reply-page content to clients and misalignment in decoding subsequent data. This flaw affects multiple Linux kernel versions and has been addressed by correcting the padding calculation to match the actual encoded output.
