AI-suggested
A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the affected Linux kernel versions. Users should update to patched kernel versions to remediate the issue. Since this is a kernel-level vulnerability, applying official kernel updates from the Linux distribution vendor is the recommended mitigation. No additional workarounds or temporary fixes are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's UBIFS file system component allows an out-of-bounds read due to an incorrect bounds check on the signature length in the ubifs_sb_verify_signature() function. This flaw can cause the kernel to read beyond allocated memory when verifying a crafted signed UBIFS image. Legitimate signed images are not affected as they do not declare invalid signature lengths.
