A fix for this vulnerability is available and should be applied. The patch initializes the relevant variable and corrects the migration logic to prevent VRAM from being dropped improperly. Users should update to patched Linux kernel versions that include this fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/amdkfd component related to svm_migrate_copy_to_vram has been resolved. The issue occurs when the migration VM range is a hole on the CPU side, causing the driver to allocate device pages without a DMA map of source pages and migration. This leads to an uninitialized variable usage that can trigger the dropping of all VRAM just set up. The fix initializes the variable and adjusts the migration logic to prevent this condition.
