A fix is available that corrects the code by moving the for loop inside the conditional block to ensure proper pointer initialization. Users should apply the official patches or updated kernel versions that include this fix. Since this is a kernel-level issue, updating to a patched kernel version is the recommended remediation.
Description
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/amdkfd component was fixed. The issue occurs when reading /sys/kernel/debug/kfd/mqds while a process holds an active KFD queue, due to improper handling of uninitialized pointers in the pqm_debugfs_mqds function. This leads to a kernel crash (NULL pointer dereference). The flaw was corrected by moving a for loop inside a conditional block to ensure proper initialization before use.
