A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this issue. Users should update to patched kernel versions that include this fix. Since this is a kernel-level fix, applying the official kernel updates from the Linux distribution vendor is the recommended remediation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's media i2c imx415 driver was resolved. The issue involved improper handling of runtime power management references on VBLANK errors, where the VBLANK path returned immediately after a failure, bypassing the common pm_runtime_put() path. This could lead to a runtime PM reference not being released properly. The fix ensures the code breaks out of the switch to use the common pm_runtime_put() path, preventing the reference leak.
