A fix is available that corrects the runtime PM reference leak by releasing the reference in the error path. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this fix to resolve the issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iio light sensor driver (ltrf216a) causes a runtime power management (PM) reference leak in an error path. Specifically, if a data read fails, the runtime PM reference is not released, preventing the device from autosuspending properly. This issue has been fixed by ensuring the runtime PM reference is released before returning from the error path.
