A fix is available that corrects the regulator reference counting logic in the m62332 driver. Users should update to a patched Linux kernel version that includes this fix. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iio: dac: m62332 driver caused a regulator reference count imbalance. The m62332_set_value() function incorrectly enables the Vcc regulator on every non-zero write and disables it on every zero write without tracking the channel's previous state. This leads to the regulator being left enabled indefinitely due to reference count mismatch. The issue has been fixed by enabling/disabling the regulator only on state transitions and balancing the reference count on I2C errors.
