A fix is available for this vulnerability in the Linux kernel. Users should apply the official patches or kernel updates that address this issue. Since this is a kernel-level vulnerability, updating to a fixed kernel version is the recommended remediation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's memory control group (memcg) subsystem related to folio object control groups (objcg) and node migration has been resolved. The issue arises because folio migration across nodes breaks the assumption that a folio's objcg matches its node, causing non-atomic reparenting of objcg and LRU list. This can lead to incorrect locking behavior during LRU operations. The fix involves selecting the objcg by folio node ID at charge time and re-deriving it during folio migration.
