A fix is available that updates the UCSI displayport driver to properly validate the GET_CURRENT_CAM response before indexing the altmode array. Users should apply the official kernel updates containing this fix to affected versions. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's UCSI displayport driver allows an out-of-bounds (OOB) array index access due to improper validation of the GET_CURRENT_CAM response. This can cause the kernel to crash if the response value exceeds the maximum allowed altmode array length and is not 0xff. The issue has been resolved by adding proper bounds checking before accessing the array.
