A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this patch. Since this is a kernel-level fix, upgrading to a patched kernel version is the recommended remediation. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's KVM SEV implementation related to Secure Nested Paging (SNP) VMSA invalidation has been resolved. The issue involved improper handling of invalidation of guest memory backing pages, which could prevent proper freeing of pages and lead to page faults. This was addressed by forcefully invalidating the SNP VMSA when its backing guest memory page is invalidated or deleted, ensuring correct reload and recheck by vCPUs.
