A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to cap the number of MSI-X vectors to the device MSI-X table size using pci_msix_vec_count(). Users should update to a patched kernel version containing this fix. Since no vendor advisory or patch links are provided, check the Linux kernel release notes or distribution advisories for the official fixed versions and apply updates accordingly.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net: mana driver has been resolved that involved improper capping of MSI-X vectors to the device's MSI-X table size. The issue caused the driver to potentially access memory beyond the allocated MSI-X table when handling interrupts on systems with a large number of virtual CPUs, leading to a kernel page fault. This was due to the driver sizing usable MSI-X vectors from CPU count and response values but not limiting it to the actual device MSI-X table size.
