A fix is available that includes SCTLR_EL1_TCSO0_MASK in SCTLR_USER_MASK to properly clear the MTE store-only tag check bit on context switches. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this patch to remediate the vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel arm64 process handling was resolved involving improper context switching of the MTE store-only tag check SCTLR_EL1.TCSO0 setting. The issue caused this setting to leak into other tasks during context switches because it was not cleared properly. This flaw was fixed by including SCTLR_EL1_TCSO0_MASK into SCTLR_USER_MASK to ensure correct clearing on context switch.
