A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this vulnerability. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this patch to ensure proper session state handling in ksmbd. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the update.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component caused session state changes to incorrectly affect unrelated connections due to improper handling of transient binding flags. This could result in connections being moved to incorrect states such as NEED_RECONNECT or NEED_SETUP. The issue has been resolved by scoping session state changes to bound connections only, serializing session-wide status changes, and protecting shutdown transitions with appropriate locking.
