A fix has been implemented to address this issue by modifying the lock handling logic. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this fix once available.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component involves unsafe handling of unregistered deferred locks. Specifically, if asynchronous work setup fails after deferring a lock, the rollback process may dereference a NULL pointer and leave the deferred lock linked in the VFS blocked-lock state while freeing it. This issue has been resolved by ensuring the lock is only added to the rollback list after successful async setup and properly unblocking and waking the deferred lock on failure.
