A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to reject negative optlen values in the cgroup getsockopt BPF hook. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this patch to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation actions are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's cgroup getsockopt BPF hook allows a BPF program to write a negative optlen value, which is improperly accepted and propagated back to the TCP getsockopt code. This can trigger a hardened usercopy warning due to an unexpected large size_t value. The issue has been resolved by rejecting negative optlen values in the kernel code.
