AI-suggested
A fix is available that validates overlay viewport coordinate calculations to prevent 32-bit wraparound and ensures coordinates fit within 16-bit register fields before use. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that address this issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's fbdev kyro driver allowed overlay viewport coordinates to be calculated using 32-bit unsigned arithmetic without proper validation, causing potential wraparound. This could lead to coordinates exceeding the 16-bit register field limits used by SetOverlayViewPort(). The issue has been resolved by validating coordinate calculations to prevent wraparound and ensuring adjusted coordinates fit within 16-bit fields before use.
