The vulnerability has been resolved by disabling the driver unbind sysfs interface in the arm_mpam driver. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this fix. Since the fix involves removing the unbind interface, no additional action is required beyond updating to a patched kernel version.
Description
A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's arm_mpam driver was resolved by disabling the driver unbind interface. The issue occurs when unbinding the last MSC for a component frees the mpam_component, but subsequent access to the freed component via the resctrl filesystem leads to use-after-free. The fix removes the unbind sysfs interface to prevent this condition.
