A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this issue. Users should update to the patched kernel versions where this flaw is resolved. Since this is not a cloud service, remediation requires applying the official kernel update. Patch status is confirmed by the vendor advisory stating the vulnerability has been resolved.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Qualcomm snps-femto-v2 PHY driver could cause a NULL pointer dereference during early runtime suspend due to improper runtime PM handling. This occurs because runtime PM must be enabled before creating the PHY, but the existing code allows a suspend callback to dereference an uninitialized hsphy instance. The issue has been fixed by taking a runtime PM usage reference before enabling runtime PM and ensuring proper cleanup during driver removal.
