A fix has been implemented that disallows sleepable tracing programs from attaching when the target BTF is not the kernel's BTF. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this fix. Since this is a kernel-level vulnerability, updating to patched kernel versions is the recommended remediation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem allows a sleepable tracing program to attach improperly to certain kernel functions when CONFIG_FUNCTION_ERROR_INJECTION is disabled. This can lead to a kernel BUG triggered by invalid context sleep calls. The issue is fixed by disallowing sleepable programs from attaching when the target BTF is not the kernel's BTF.
