A fix is available that corrects the offset storage and validation logic. Users should apply the official Linux kernel patches that address this issue. Since this is a kernel vulnerability, updating to a patched kernel version is the recommended remediation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's remoteproc subsystem allows an out-of-bounds (OOB) read due to improper handling of a signed offset. The offset, sourced from firmware as an unsigned 32-bit integer, was incorrectly stored as a signed integer, enabling crafted offsets to bypass boundary checks and cause OOB reads. This issue has been resolved by storing the offset as unsigned and validating it before pointer arithmetic.
