A fix has been applied to the Linux kernel to address this issue. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes this patch. Since this is a kernel-level fix, applying the official kernel update from the vendor or distribution is the recommended remediation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's brcmfmac WiFi driver related to P2P action frame handling has been resolved. The issue arises because some P2P action frame paths incorrectly assume the presence of a P2P device vif, which may not exist in certain scenarios. This can cause improper handling when userspace sends non-P2P public action frames or when aborting action frames after the P2P device vif is not created. The fix involves falling back to the primary vif and guarding access to P2P device saved IE before use.
