AI-suggested

A fix has been applied to the Linux kernel to remove the unconditional call to mt7915_pci_init_hif2(), leaving only the correct initialization path. Users should update to a patched kernel version that includes this fix. Since this is a kernel-level fix, upgrading the Linux kernel to a version containing this patch is the recommended remediation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mt76 wifi driver for the mt7915 device caused a double initialization of the hif2 interface on the non-WED path. This double initialization led to incrementing a global index twice, writing to a PCIe register twice, and leaking a device reference. The issue was fixed by removing the unconditional call to the initialization function, leaving only the correct call inside the WED-inactive branch.
