A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel. Users should apply the official kernel updates that address this issue. Since this is not a cloud service, remediation requires updating affected Linux kernel versions. Check vendor advisories or distribution updates for the appropriate patched kernel versions.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to the BPF x86 trampoline stack size handling for 128-bit arguments has been resolved. The issue arises because the function btf_distill_func_proto() accepts function arguments up to 16 bytes, but the implementation incorrectly assumes a 128-bit argument (__int128) requires only one register. This causes under-allocation of the register save area and overwriting of adjacent stack slots. The fix involves correctly computing the register count from the argument size for all arguments.
