Description

CVE-2026-90552 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in WWBN AVideo that allows both authenticated users with limited privileges and unauthenticated users to access private playlist schedule metadata. Technical Analysis

WWBN AVideo, as of commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1, fails to validate ownership of playlists in the Playlists_schedules/list.json.php and Live/calendar.json.php endpoints. This allows attackers, including those without authentication or with only canStream privileges, to retrieve private playlist schedule metadata by querying these endpoints. The exposed data includes schedule names, descriptions, timestamps, and playlist identifiers. The vulnerability is classified with a CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.3, indicating medium severity.

Potential Impact

Attackers can bypass authorization controls to read private playlist schedule metadata, potentially exposing sensitive scheduling information. Both unauthenticated users and users with limited privileges can exploit this flaw to access data they should not have permission to view. There is no indication of further impact such as data modification or system compromise.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the affected endpoints where possible and monitor for unauthorized access attempts.
