Technical Analysis

The WP Fusion Lite plugin before version 3.48.0 contains a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in a settings handler invoked during admin initialization. Because this handler does not require authentication, unauthenticated attackers can modify the CRM integration endpoint and credentials. This manipulation enables attackers to receive user data synchronized by the plugin, compromising data confidentiality.

Potential Impact

An attacker can overwrite CRM integration settings without authentication, causing user data synchronized by the plugin to be sent to an attacker-controlled host. This results in unauthorized disclosure of user information. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 6.5 (medium severity), reflecting network attack vector, low complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and partial confidentiality and integrity impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in WP Fusion Lite version 3.48.0. Users should upgrade to version 3.48.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. Until then, restricting access to the WordPress admin area and monitoring for unauthorized changes to CRM settings may help reduce risk.
