AI-suggested

Users of Everest Forms plugin versions up to 3.6.2 should monitor vendor advisories for updates. Until a fix is available, avoid clicking on suspicious links containing the 'evf_toast_type' and 'evf_toast' parameters. Implementing web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block malicious payloads targeting these parameters may provide temporary mitigation.

Description

Everest Forms plugin for WordPress versions up to 3.6.2 is vulnerable to reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) via the 'evf_toast_type' parameter. This vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary scripts. Successful exploitation requires the 'evf_toast' parameter to decode via atob(), which is attacker-controlled. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.1, indicating medium severity.
