Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Progress Software Corporation
Product: MarkLogic Server

Description

CVE-2026-9190 is a critical HTTP request smuggling vulnerability in Progress Software Corporation's MarkLogic Server HTTP App Server. It affects versions 11.0.0 and 12.0.0. The flaw arises when a crafted HTTP request with both Content-Length and Transfer-Encoding headers causes inconsistent interpretation of request boundaries between a reverse proxy and the server. Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-444) in MarkLogic Server's HTTP App Server occurs due to inconsistent parsing of HTTP requests containing both Content-Length and Transfer-Encoding headers. When a reverse proxy and MarkLogic Server interpret these headers differently, an attacker can smuggle HTTP requests to bypass security controls. The vulnerability affects MarkLogic Server versions 11.0.0 and 12.0.0. The CVSS 3.1 score is 9.1, indicating critical severity with network attack vector, no privileges required, no user interaction, and high impact on confidentiality and integrity.

Potential Impact

An attacker can remotely exploit this vulnerability to bypass authentication and authorization mechanisms, hijack legitimate user sessions, or capture sensitive credentials. This compromises the confidentiality and integrity of the affected system without requiring prior access or user interaction. Availability impact is not indicated.
