CVE-2026-92450: CWE-798 in Kiloview E3 Firmware
Description
Kiloview E3 NDI encoder firmware versions prior to 1.30 contain a vulnerability where the authentication framework uses a hardcoded HMAC-SHA256 secret to sign session JSON Web Tokens. This secret is identical across all devices and can be extracted from the publicly available firmware. An attacker can use this secret to forge session tokens, including administrative tokens, allowing unauthenticated access to privileged functions on the device.

Technical Analysis
The Kiloview E3 firmware's authentication framework signs session JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) using an HMAC-SHA256 secret that is hardcoded as a static string within the firmware image. This secret is the same across all deployed devices. Because the firmware is publicly distributed, an attacker can extract this secret and use it to forge arbitrary session tokens, including those granting administrative privileges, without needing valid credentials. This vulnerability is identified as CWE-798 (Use of Hard-coded Credentials) and affects firmware versions prior to 1.30.
Potential Impact
An attacker who obtains the firmware can recover the static HMAC-SHA256 secret and forge session tokens, including administrative tokens. This enables unauthenticated attackers to gain privileged access to device functions, potentially compromising device integrity and security. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 7.5 (High), reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and high confidentiality impact.
Mitigation Recommendations
No official patch or remediation is currently documented. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to firmware images and device management interfaces to trusted users only. Monitor vendor communications for updates on patches or mitigations.
