Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem related to a control flow integrity (CFI) mismatch in task work callback invocation has been resolved. The issue arises because BPF subprograms use the bpf_callback_t ABI, but task work invokes the callback through a three-argument function pointer, causing a CFI mismatch. This has been fixed by storing and invoking the callback correctly as bpf_callback_t. The vulnerability affects multiple specific Linux kernel versions used in various Ubuntu LTS releases.
