A fix is available for this vulnerability. Users should update to patched versions of the linux-hwe-edge kernel as listed in the affected versions. Since this is a kernel-level flaw, applying the official kernel updates from the vendor is the recommended remediation.
Description
A double-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's xfrm subsystem was fixed in the function xfrm_dev_direct_output(). The flaw occurs because the function frees a socket buffer (skb) even when ownership has been transferred or the skb has been consumed, leading to a double-free when netfilter drops the packet. This issue has been resolved by returning the local_out() result directly to properly handle skb ownership.
