A fix for this vulnerability is available and has been applied to the affected Linux kernel versions. Users should update to the patched kernel versions listed or later to remediate this issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ext4 filesystem code causes a buffer_head memory leak in the ext4_init_orphan_info() function. The function improperly releases buffer_head references on error paths involving orphan block validation failures, leading to resource leakage. This issue has been resolved in affected Linux kernel versions.
