AI-suggested

A fix is available that moves the restrack removal call to the start of the ib_dealloc_pd_user() function, preventing use-after-free. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this patch. Since this is a kernel vulnerability, updating to a patched kernel version is the recommended remediation. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA core component (ib_dealloc_pd_user) has been fixed. The issue arises because the synchronization mechanism for protection domains (PD) was invoked too late, allowing a short window where the PD could still be accessed after its resources were freed. The fix moves the removal of the PD from the tracking mechanism to the start of the deallocation process, preventing new references to a PD being destroyed.
