AI-suggested

A fix is available that properly frees the allocated memory in bpf_jit_free(). Users should update to patched versions of the Linux kernel that include this fix. The affected versions include specific linux-hwe-edge kernel builds listed in the advisory. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.

Description

A memory leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF JIT compiler for riscv architecture has been fixed. The issue occurs when bpf_int_jit_compile() returns early during the first pass for subprograms, leaving memory allocated for JIT context offsets unfreed if JIT compilation fails later. This causes a memory leak in the kernel's BPF subsystem.
