Description

Craft CMS versions 5.7.0 through before 5.10.13 contain a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Generated Fields feature. Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-92590 is a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability affecting Craft CMS versions >=5.7.0 and <5.10.13. The vulnerability exists in the Generated Fields feature, which disables Twig autoescaping and does not properly encode cached values. This allows content editors to inject malicious JavaScript code into editable fields. When higher-privileged users access element indexes in the Control Panel, the malicious script executes in their authenticated sessions, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or data exposure within the CMS.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability enables content editors with editing privileges to inject malicious JavaScript that executes in the browser sessions of higher-privileged authenticated users in the Control Panel. This could lead to unauthorized actions performed with elevated privileges or exposure of sensitive information accessible to those users. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 5.1, indicating a medium severity impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Craft CMS versions 5.10.13 and later. Users should upgrade to version 5.10.13 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patch.
